Samhain, also known as All Hallows Eve/Halloween celebrated on Oct. 31, is one of the oldest Celtic holidays, going back thousands of years. Nov. 1 was known as the Celtic New Year and later evolved into All Souls/Saints Day. It marked the end of summer, the final harvest after the Fall Equinox, and the beginning of the season of darkness and cold. It was also believed to be the time of year when the veil between this world and the next was the thinnest.
During our All Hallows Eve ritual, we will honor the Great Mothers who were our ancestors along with loved ones who have departed this life. This gathering will combine ritual, meditation, chanting, and Dances and Walks of Universal Peace inspired by the Great Mother as embodied by Mary Magdalene as the Dark Bride, and Goddesses from the ancient Hebrew tradition.
Please bring a picture of a loved one you would like to honor and remember for the altar; and a light snack to share. Please RSVP Amina Linda if coming: email@example.com—864-787-2871
